太古の昔、二匹の小さな宇宙人が地球にやってきました。
彼らの本当の名前は、地球の言葉では発音できません。
地球の言葉で発音するなら、

フ・・・ウ・・・ジ　、　ラ・・・イ・・・ジ

故郷の星では、フ・・・ウ・・・ジ＝夢　、　ラ・・・イ・・・ジ＝希望
という意味でした。

Long ago, two little aliens came to Earth.
Their true names cannot be pronounced in any language on Earth.
In Earth language, they sound like

FU・・・U・・・JI　、　RA・・・I・・・JI

On their home planet,
FU・・・U・・・JI meant “dream.” RA・・・I・・・JI meant “hope.”

地球にやってきた二匹は、毎日を自由に遊びまわりました。
気まぐれに風を巻き起こし、雷を落としては、笑い転げる。

それは、遊びの延長でしかなかったのですが…

けれど地球にとっては、天地創造のようなものだったのです。

The two little aliens who came to Earth spent their days playing freely.
On a whim, they stirred up the wind, dropped lightning from the sky,
and laughed wildly.

To them, it was nothing more than play.

But to Earth, it was something like creation itself.

二匹が知らず知らずのうちに創造した世界に、
やがて「人間」が現れました。

時は流れ、二匹は「日本」と呼ばれる国にいました。

ある日、人間に見つかった二匹は、自分たちの名前を口にします。

フ・ウ・ジ。
ラ・イ・ジ。

人間はそれを「風神」「雷神」と聞き取り、
なぜか二匹は神様として崇められるようになりました。

とある伝記には、
「風人丸」「雷人丸」という記録も残っています。

のちに俵屋宗達の屏風画にも描かれますが、
宗達の好みで、似ても似つかぬ姿になって
現代に伝えられているとか、いないとか。

が??

彼らにとって、そんな呼び名はどうでもよかったのです。

FUJI＝夢、RAIJI＝希望として生まれた。
地球では風神・雷神など好き勝手に呼ばれている。
でも二匹の根っこにあるのは、いつだって「夢」と「希望」なのです。

二匹は今日も、いつも通り遊んでいます。

In the world the two had unknowingly created,
humans eventually appeared.

Time passed, and the two found themselves
in a land called Japan.

One day, a human found them,
and the two spoke their names.

Fu-u-ji.
Ra-i-ji.

The human heard their names as “Fujin” and “Raijin,”
and somehow, the two came to be worshiped as gods.

An old record even mentions the names
“Fujinmaru” and “Raijinmaru.”

Later, they appeared on a folding screen by Tawaraya Sōtatsu,
but Sōtatsu changed them to suit his own taste,
leaving them looking nothing like themselves.

That version has supposedly been passed down to the present day.
Or maybe not.

But?

to them, none of those names really mattered.

FUJI was born as “Dream,”
and RAIJI as “Hope.”

On Earth, people call them whatever they like?
Fujin, Raijin, and other names.

But at their core,
there are always “Dream” and “Hope.”

Even today,
the two keep playing,
just as they always have.

風神と雷神として崇められ、日本で暮らしはじめた二匹は、八百万の神々や
仏様たちとも仲良くなりました。そうして神話の始まりに近い薩摩の地を気に入り、
そのまま住み着きました。

それから気ままに遊び続けたのですが……。
どれほど遊んでも、やがて少しずつ退屈になっていきます。

そんな二匹が見つけたのは、どこまでも自由に世界を生み出せる、
人間の想像力でした。

二匹は一人のアーティスト、bokudou.e の頭の中へ忍び込み、
そこを新しい遊び場にします。

今では、bokudou.e が生み出す作品やプロダクトの中に封印され、
世界へ飛び立つ日を静かに待っています。

彼らの星では、
「フ・ウ・ジ」は夢。
「ラ・イ・ジ」は希望。

その夢と希望が、これからどんなミラクルを起こしていくのか。

物語は、まだ始まったばかりです。

Worshiped as Fujin and Raijin,
the two settled in Satsuma, Japan.

After countless years of play,
they discovered something even more exciting:
human imagination.

They slipped into the mind of an artist named bokudou.e
and made it their new playground.

Now they remain inside his artworks and products,
quietly waiting to travel into the world.

On their home planet,
FU...U...JI meant “Dream.”
RA...I...JI meant “Hope.”

What kind of miracles will
those dreams and hopes create from here?

Their story has only just begun.
